Elk Valley Rancheria

The Elk Valley Rancheria, California, is a federally recognized Indian tribe. The Tribe was illegally terminated from federal recognition pursuant to the California Rancheria Act. The Tribe was restored to recognition through federal court litigation and formally 2 reorganized in 1994 pursuant to a written Tribal Constitution approved by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior.

The Tribe offers various governmental services to its members and operates several local businesses, including the Tsunami Lanes Bowling Alley, Del Norte Golf Course, Hiouchi RV Resort, First Chance / Last Chance Liquors, and the Elk Valley Casino. The Tribe also owns Elk Valley Rancheria Economic Development Corporation and Elk Valley Rock. The Tribe is in the process of obtaining federal approvals for a resort and casino near Highway 101 and Humboldt Road.
